Teresa Heinz Kerry hasn't lost her outspoken way: "THE CATHOLIC CHURCH: A practicing Catholic, as is her husband, Heinz Kerry remains outraged at attacks by bishops on her husband's pro-choice views.

'You cannot have bishops in the pulpit -- long before or the Sunday before the election -- as they did in Catholic churches, saying it was a mortal sin to vote for John Kerry,' she said.

Heinz Kerry gave no examples. Last year, a few ultraconservative prelates said they would not allow the Democratic nominee to receive communion in their dioceses. The bishop of Colorado Springs declared that Catholics voting for pro-choice candidates were not welcome at the communion rail.
'The church has a right and obligation to teach values,' Heinz Kerry declared. 'They don't have a right to restrict freedom of expression, which they did.'"

The catholic Church should stay the hell out of politics until it can decide whether the murder of even one innocent Iraqi (Vote for Bush) is more godly than the choice of a preteen victim of incest rape, bringing more baby rape victims into the world (so the bishops have more playthings?)

GOP Abuse of Power, Report by House Democrats Alleges (washingtonpost.com): "Pelosi, a liberal who has few weapons besides rhetoric to use against the conservatives who control Congress, described the forthcoming report as documenting 'devastating details of the profound abuse of power that characterizes House Republicans after 10 years in the majority.'
'While this Republican administration has spoken strongly about promoting democracy around the world, the House Republican leadership is working feverishly to undermine democracy here at home,' she said in a statement to be released with the report.
Pelosi said the leaders 'ram bills through committees without full discussion, permit few if any floor amendments, and if need be, hold open floor votes until enough arms have been twisted to ensure passage.' In November 2003, the House leadership kept a roll call going for two hours and 51 minutes -- more than double the previous record -- until they could round up enough votes to pass President Bush's Medicare revision and prescription drug bill. expensive process of holding them in U.S. facilities.

Category: TORTURE SCANDAL

This fails to adress the real issue.
For two years, the US Government has been torturing, or shipping to other countries to be tortured, people that the US thought might know where Saddam had hidden his weapons of mass destruction.
Except, of course, that Saddam did not HAVE any weapons of mass destruction.
The claims that Saddam did have banned WMDs came from the Pentagon Office of Special Plans. The Pentagon Office of Special Plans is now known to have been inflitrated by an Israeli spy operation.
So, whether the torture was done in US facilities, or 'outsourced', it still comes down to the same thing. The US Government has been torturing innocent people for information they could not possibly have. The US Government has been torturing innocent people for information they could not possibly have. The US Government has
been torturing innocent people for information they could not possibly have. The US Government has been torturing innocent people for information they could not possibly have."

Wounded Italian Reporter Recalls Ordeal:
"Giuliana Sgrena described how she was wounded and Italian intelligence officer Nicola Calipari was killed as she was celebrating her freedom on the way to the airport. The shooting Friday has fueled anti-American sentiment in a country where people are deeply opposed to the war in Iraq.
``I remember only fire,'' Sgrena wrote in her newspaper, the communist daily Il Manifesto. ``At that point a rain of fire and bullets came at us, forever silencing the happy voices from a few minutes earlier.''
Sgrena said the driver began shouting that they were Italian, then ``Nicola Calipari dove on top of me to protect me and immediately, and I mean immediately, I felt his last breath as he died on me.''
Suddenly, she said, she remembered her captors' words, when they warned her ``to be careful because the Americans don't want you to return.'' "
